YCMHA Registration Fee Increase -2025/26 Season
*Why Hockey Fees Are Increasing This Season
We want to be transparent about the reasons behind the increase in registration fees this season. Although hockey is an expensive sport, we still have some of the lowest registration fees in Nova Scotia and we commit to trying to keep them as low as possible.
Ice time is the largest expense for any hockey program. The primary factor driving this change is a significant rise in ice rental costs (10% increase this year), which translates to a $50 increase per player.
Hockey Nova Scotia has also increased the fees that YCMHA pays for each player and coach within our association. With over 450 players and 140 coaches, these fees are substantial.
As a result, we’ve had to adjust our fees accordingly. We’ve explored cost-saving options and continue to look for ways to operate as efficiently as possible while minimizing the impact on families. However as a non-profit organization, we have limited options available to recover these increased costs.
The YCMHA registration fees for the 2025/2026 season will be:
U7 (first year) - $520
U7 (returning player) - $630
U9 - $680
U11 - $720
U13, U15 & U18 - $740
Rep fees will also increase to $400
Goalies (any year) - $190 *player must be committed to playing goaltender fill time for the entire year
We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support. Our goal remains the same: to provide a safe, competitive, and enjoyable hockey environment for all players.
